SIMFIX^® - 100 KAPSUL

INGREDIENT :
Each capsule contains: Cefixime Trihydrate 112 mg equivalent to Cefixime 100 mg.

INDICATION :

Cefixime is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by certain susceptible microorganisms, namely:

» Uncomplicated urinary tract infections caused by E. coli and P. mirabilis.

» Otitis media caused by H. influenzae (-lactamase positive and negative strains); Moraxella/Branhamella catarrhalis (mostly -lactamase positive) and Streptococcus pyogenes.

» Pharyngitis and tonsillitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes.

» Acute bronchitis and acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae and H. influenzae (-lactamase positive and negative strains).

» Treatment of typhoid fever in children who are multiresistant to standard drug regimens.

» Uncomplicated (cervical/urethral) gonorrhoeae caused by N. gonorrhoeae (penicillinase and nonpenicillinase producing strains).

DOSAGE AND USAGE :

» Adults and children weighing 30 kg: the usual recommended dose is 50-100 mg (potency) orally 2 times a day. Dosage should be adjusted according to the age, weight, and condition of the patient. For more severe infections, the dose may be increased to 200 mg (potency) given 2 times a day.

» Children: otitis media should be treated in suspension.

» Typhoid fever in children: 10-15 mg/kg/day for 2 weeks.
